my kids have attended sunshine house kennerly for almost 2 1/2 years and have had the best teachers in the pre-k and afterschoolers room. They really are easy to work with and seem to be eager to help anyway they could . Keep up the great work .-- A Grateful MOM!
Terrible childcare center. DO NOT leave your infant there unless you want them not to be cared for. My 16 wk old son was left strapped in his car seat for 5 hours without being fed or changed (with them being told we would pick him up at a specific time). Who knows what went on when they weren't expecting us. This is not a bad review for The Sunshine House, they have been wonderful and we are at a different location that we LOVE! The Kennerly Road facility is horrible.....teachers and directors.
On the outside the place looks great and we were very impressed! Once you get to know the front office staff/management, you realize that it is a disaster. I want to start by saying that the teachers I know are all great with good hearts towards the children. But the problem is those that run it. They are almost always short staffed. They do not respect your privacy, if you have anything private that you share with the director or another up front, rest assured that everyone in the building including a few parents will know about it before the day is over. The structure and learning that our children were getting a year ago is gone! They encourage the staff to not have structure. Such a sad ending to a once great place.
Our daughter got infected numerous times with east and fungal infection and almost permanent diaper rush due to not regular diaper change.For almost an year , She didn't even got potty training. Last time her tongue was almost half bitten, and didn't even got an accident report.So I decided to sign her out forever of this bad daycare. Now they charged me two weeks more because of their contract. Not this time :) I'm disputing the transactions right now and even gonna press charge for that terrible care of my daughter.
We looked at many day cares for our daughter... starting very early in pregnancy. We got put on the list for Sunshine house. As time drew near to actually needing our daughter to start there they said they did not know if they would have space. With 2 weeks until we need to start her... after no call back for an update I found out they gave away spots and there is none for our daughter now.
We were on there list Since June... I am writing this in Jan, and we both work at Emory (which they claim is supposed to take prefference). Very irrate about being strung along for months, with a false sense of security in having something for our daughter. We are now left in a lurch and trying to find space for our baby last minute. Thanks a lot Sunshine house!
