Review for: IRS Office in Schiller Park, IL
super helpful staff
Never waited more than 5minutes for fast, professional help. Everyone was friendly.

The woman lied saying the computer was down so she didn't have to work. Lazy government employee. Fire the IRS!
The guy was so rude and did not have any manners whatsoever!
This office is one of the slowest and most uncourtious places in the world. I got there at 10:30 one day and waited until 3:30. People that had appointments were waiting just as long. Almost 2 hours went by with out them calling a single person. I know people have lunch breaks, but 2 hours?....really??? I get 30 minutes and we take shifts so people can still be helped. You are not allowed to have water or snacks in there but, are expected to wait for 5 plus hours. After we got back there the lady that helped us was very helpful and nice, but the lady that works the front desk needs a complete attitude adjustment. She didn't get an attitude with me, but I heard her being rude to other people that didn't deserve it.
I just wanted to know the office hours and it was so difficult.got the telephone no and had to listen to a lengthy message. A private business will have office hrs right next to the telephone.
Please add directions to office
Very rude disrespectful employees. I arrived at 3:30pm to do my business. The receptionist yelled to the line of people which I was in she was no longer doing any transactions other than taking payments. When I ask what time the conduct the business I needed she replied from 8:30am until whenever. Very disrespectful and rude. I guess she and others think because it is the IRS they may talk or treat a taxpayer however they want. Unfortunately I do have to return to do my business. The only reason I gave a star is I had to rate to have my comments posted
they have better than banking hours. Quit taking people in line at 3:00pm. Wow, couldn't believe it! Must be nice, our tax dollars at work!
These are the laziest people I have ever encountered in my life !!!! Don't trust them to mail your taxes off for you... They let mine sit on a desk for two weeks before sending it out. Take it with you and give it to a mailman !!!!!!
The number they give you just says they dont offer over the phone service and wont even tell you when the office is opened. If the IRS is going to blow our tax money make it just a tad more user friendly!!!!
This is one of the offices that was active in discriminating against Tea Party/Conservative groups. When Democrats called these groups "a threat to democracy," this was one of the IRS offices that decided to target them. Frightening stuff...
I recently took time off work, because the Lancaster IRS office hours are NOT for working people, only to find out that they closed early due to staff issues! Would have been nice to inform people on their website, rather than waste gas and time from work for nothing. Three of us walked up to the door to get help, and saw the paper sign hanging on the door!
I am extremely upset!! I took time off work to go get copies of tax returns. They close at 4:30 pm. I got the at 3:30. Receptionist said the person that could help me has to do something before going home so she cant help you, come back tomorrow. Website gives offices hrs it doesn't say, if busy they won't be able to help u.
Gerald Cirasella has been invaluable in walking me through the filing requirements re: Form 637 and follow-up Form 4564. He has furnished me with all relevant reference documents and has returned all phone calls whenever I had additional questions. Mr. Cirasella truly personifies a professional with the ability to communicate his expertise in a very personalized and pleasant manner.
What's the difference? Both violate basic human rights, like Free Speech.
Really what's the point of having a number for that office if they can't receive calls!!! Yeah they provide you with a 1800 number where it takes you forever to talk to a representative, when you finally get one they hang up on you or pretend that they can't hear you. Ugh frustrating!
I will withhold my review if the IRS office until I see whether the low-level flunkys who toil in drudgery here are anything like their crooked, undemocratic, political hacks in the Cincinnati office. But I'll be watching.
Awesome Service!!!
Went in for a paper for college, it was a quick and easy transaction. Thanks
I know it must seem weird, someone rating an IRS office. But they were great. The personnel were very helpful, friendly, and extremely knowledgable. They made my visit very enjoyable!
You can't call and talk to someone you have to go in or call the 800 number and all I wanted to know is how to let them know how someone is possibly frauding them.
I stood in line for over an hour to make a payment. There were, at last count, 15 people in line with me, and there was one guy working. While there I saw two other employees walking around in the back not helping any of the people that were in line. The service at this location is worse than the USPS. This office is everything I have come to expect from a civil servant. Pathetic!
I have had two encounters with this office and on both occasions have found the two different people working there to be rude and incompetent. They do not know what they are doing or how to handle any situation, yet they keep their jobs. I have notified a higher authority about this but no one seems to care, only to get their money.
The personnel in this office are very knowledgeable, polite, and very willing to help with what ever questions or concerns that you may have. Waiting times were better than I expected.
Thank you for your time and consideration
The guy they have working the door/ticket machine is VERY rude ...an hr before closing he wouldn't let me get a number because he said "his workers" were not gonna see me . When I did speak with someone (that same day) the issue was handled !! The guy that i spoke with was very friendly !
My young daughter filing her taxes for the first time went there today. She was treated like an animal with a disease, by a gentleman that sits and is suppose to help in section A.. She was so upset and was crying hysterically that she did not get his name. He humiliated her in front of a room full of people and the security man at the door had to comfort her as she was leaving! SHAMEFUL!!!!! We will however find out who it was and file a full complaint.
The employees in the office were very helpful and nice. I went in to get my tax transcripts for school . There were many people who were rude and agitated towards the office workers because they felt they should have been able to get In and out. Listen people, they have a job to do and it would make it easier on everyone if you just shut your mouth and wait your turn. When the gentleman called my name, he had already dealt with many rude people however he was very patient and kind with me. I just want to say thank you to everyone who works for the IRS and I applaud you. I was in customer service for 22 years and understand fully. Keep smiling and don't let those rude people change you or ruin your day!
I files my taxes on Ja.30. I have nothing but was Adit on Feb.13. They said I would have my refund in 4 to 6 weeks, Ha Ha. They were joking, I still haven^t received it. The Gov. can do what they want with my money. It would be nice if somebody would answer me, instead of talking to a recording.
I went in and saw two big lines so I went to the front where the security officer just told me to get in line. He did not want to give me any direction nor let the lady next to him help me out either. The Front desk lady was just sitting infront of the computer doing absolutely nothing and providing no service what so ever. I had to wait in line 1 hour only to find out that I would not be attended to because they had run out of tickets and did not help without a ticket. Disgusting service.
This office is ridculous all windows/cubicles are empty other than the employee while the waiting area is full with a 2-3 hr wait. Where/who is the one in charge of this office???? Maybe this needs to be taken up higher than just a so call supervisor!!!
I was going in to the IRS building to get a copy of my taxes for school and there was this sterotyipcal rent a cop with fake hair, fake teeth and fake nails trying to be all holier than thou. It was so hysterical! Go somewhere else unless you'd like a luagh.
Don't bother calling if you are trying to get a live person. I was told by an IRS attorney to call and get an appointment to straighten out some issues. What you get when you call is an automated message telling you an appointed might be needed but then it shuts off and you are unable to reach a human being. Though, I realize now, there are no humans working for the IRS.
They are very helpful everytime, waiting period is not bad.
This office was extremely rude. Before I could even get through the booth, I was required to tell them why I was there. When I began to outline my question, before I had even sat down, I was told that they couldn't help me at this office. I was given a bookmark with the I.R.S. 1-800 number to go home and call. I can't believe the "service" rep. couldn't call someone on my behalf. And, to add insult to injury, when I got home and called the 800 number, no one there seemed to have an answer to my question! I was on hold for more than an hour and transferred four times with no help at all. I would NOT recommend this office to anyone. The nicest person in the office was the Security Guard.
Clean, fast, really nice and patient IRS representatives!! I don't mind going to the IRS at all if I go there!! Lots of space and light so comforting.
There needs to be a representative available by telephone. Some people are unable to come directly to the office, and it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone by the 800 number either! Consider your TAXPAYERS NEEDS, not your bottom line...
No answer so if you dont have the right paper work 100 mile drive back and then 100 down
They definitely don't give the IRS a bad name here! I had spoken to someone at the 1-800 number who had left a bad taste in my mouth so I had to see if I could talk to someone in person. They have a system if calling you by different numbers so that you dont wait so long. As long as you are prepared when you go there with your problem they are able to help you in a timely fashion, and they're friendly and professional.
Called to report a compliance issue - M & T bank not providing 1098 forms to account holders even when asked to do so. No one available to take complaint or action 3/7/2013
I never thought I would say this but Local IRS actually HELPED ME!! As long as you are honest they will use they're power to truly get you off the hook and bsck.on track!
The gentleman that assisted me was very helpful and kind.
Fast professional and respectful.
this office has moved and there is no further information available about new location. the phone number is right though
Its tax season, and there are no forms. When one asks about this the staff is surly and rude. "Take a number" was the response when inquiring about the availability of forms. These people obviously have jobs for life, as one could NEVER treat a customer like this in the private sector and get away with it long. If 0 stars were possible that's what I would have given them.
I was a victim of tax fraud in 2010 I went to Irs in West Palm Bch. they gave me the runaround so now I file my taxes for the 2012 year and they rejected because someone else been using my name I lost two years of tax returns now this is a third year I really wish they would have put my report in
I used to go to your office and file my taxes myself and get checked for errors. I would like to know if I can still do that My case is very simple. Please answer my email Thanks
I filed Income Tax at the IRS in Plantation, FL for the past 5 years. People in those places are very courteous and knowledgeable. Their services are very organized as you can go by appointment - which you do not have to wait - or on the first-come first-served basis but people do not have to wait for too long. This time I will be going to the Perimeter Pkwy office. Before I used the IRS office, I always had to pay $40.00 even though I did not have to pay Income Tax.
thanks for your help it was fast an convient.
I simply wanted to see if they had a form that I needed BUT, you cant call there to ask a simple question. I dont know why they even bother to have a number listed when all you get is a recorded message stating that they really just dont answer the phone. I will physically have to go there and last year they were all out of the forms that I reeded.
The personnel are great, the know their job and do it well .the had my problem taken care of 35 minuets and no hassle .and there was only two workers, and they were working
I tried calling the Provo IRS office and they said the mail box was full and couldn't receive more calls. All I'm trying to do is find out the hours they are open.
Tried to call the office . Got an automated message saying they don't take phone calls. Then why are they spending the taxpayers money to have a phone system and phone number.
They do not accept phone calls to answer simple questions, i.e.; do they carry 2012 tax forms at their office.
Also, the individual who did the voice message does not even pronounce Lancaster properly. If you are putting someone to leave the message be sure they know how to pronounce the city they are in.
They won't answer the damn phone! Have to drive there.
the officers at this location are very helpful and polite. The line moves slowly due to lack of staff. Also, many repeat visits for different reasons is inefficient and wastes visitors precious time. Some people get turned away and have to return another day because of insufficient staff.
